These appointments are usually for a longer time, so it is important that any such appointments are kept or cancelled in good time.
Travel Services
The only travel vaccinations available from the practice are tetanus/diphtheria/polio, typhoid and hepatitis A.
We do not give advice on which vaccinations will be required for travel purposes.
We do not offer occupational health vaccinations at this practice. Please contact your employer, your employer’s Occupational Health Department, or NHS Plus.
If you are travelling abroad, please complete a Travel Risk Assessment.
This service may be effected if we are short of staff or in high demand of priority services, in the event we are unable to offer you travel vaccinations you will be advised to attend a pharmacy or private travel clinic.
Minor illnesses nurses
We would like to remind patients of the services provided by our experienced specialist nurses, who could see you in their minor illness clinics.
They have been trained to diagnose and treat many common health problems, including those requiring a prescription as long as symptoms have only just started and you have not already seen a doctor about these symptoms:
- Abnormal vaginal bleeding
- Bites/stings
- Cold sores
- Constipation (not under 5 years of age)
- Contraception (including the “morning after” pill)
- Coughs
- Cystitis
- Diarrhoea and vomiting
- Earache
- Eczema
- Fever
- Haemorrhoids (piles)
- Hay fever
- Head lice
- Minor head wounds
- Nappy rash
- Rashes
- Shingles
- Sinusitis
- Sore eyes
- Sore throats
- Styes
- Threadworms
- Vaginal discharge
- Warts/verrucae
You can either book an appointment directly, or you will be asked when booking and appointment to see if the minor illness nurse could deal with your current problem.
Specialised clinics
We hold various chronic disease management clinics to which you may be invited to attend, if appropriate. These appointments are usually for a longer time, so it is important that any such appointments are kept or cancelled in good time.
Baby clinics (for children 0 to 5 years old)
- Alternate Tuesday afternoons 13:30 – 15:15 at The Red Bear Childrens’ Centre, Arlesey (in the Youth Centre)
- Alternate Tuesday afternoons 13:30 – 15:15 at The Red Bear Childrens’ Centre, Stotfold (at St Mary’s VC Lower Acadamy)
Group developmental reviews are carried out as children reach their 1st and 2nd birthdays. Appointments will be sent directly to parents.

Essential Services
We offer day to day work of general practice, looking after patients during an episode of illness, the general management of chronic disease and the non-specialist care of patients who are terminally ill.
Additional Services
We offer additional services, such as contraceptive services (including pre-conception advice and emergency contraception), maternity services (excluding home delivery), child health surveillance, cervical screening and some non-invasive minor surgery. We offer enhanced services, including:
- Childhood immunisations (including oral Rotavirus)
- Flu and pneumococcal vaccinations for patients at risk
- Coil and implant fitting and removal
- Minor injuries
- Limited minor surgery
- Human papilloma virus vaccination for girls
- MMR catch-up
- Alcohol related risk reduction – If you have been invited to submit an alcohol consumption review, please complete an Alcohol Consumption Review
- Learning disability checks
- Shingles vaccination for over 70yrs
- Diagnosis and support for people with dementia
- Improving online access
- Risk profiling and care management
- Remote care monitoring
- Whooping cough immunisation for pregnant ladies
- NHS health checks
- Chlamydia testing (for under 24s)
- Phlebotomy (taking blood)

Please do not expect a prescription from every consultation with a doctor or nurse. There may be other options for treatment. We will follow the current best practice guidance.
